Where to stay

It is recommended you stay in the Sukhumvit area. This area is close to the BTS Skytrain and MRT subway, which makes it easy to get around the city.

  • Most tourist attractions are accessible by BTS and MRT.
  • Traffic is notoriously bad even for short distances.
  • Bangkok is extremely hot and humid. You don’t want to be walking outside for too long especially after a long day.

What to do

Malls

For many this will seem strange but you will most likely spend a lot of time in malls.

Air conditioning
Bangkok is very hot and you will need to cool down.

Food courts Compared to many other countries, food courts in Bangkok offer much better quality food

Restrooms Restrooms in malls are usually very clean and free.

Warning Some of the smaller malls do not have toilet paper inside of the stalls. In many cases, you can find toilet paper being sold outside of the restrooms. It is recommended you carry a small pack of tissues with you.
